All B-defined Personal Trainers maintain a minimum certification
by a nationally accredited organization and have expertise
in the following areas: health and fitness screening; cardio
respiratory fitness; muscular strength and endurance; strength
training program design; communication and teaching; flexibility
and stretching; nutrition; human anatomy and physiology, musculoskeletal
injuries; emergency procedures and injury rehab; CPR and First

Bridgit lives life to the fullest. As a personal trainer,
dancer and triathelete champion, Bridgit knows from
her own experience, the benefits of an excellent exercise
program. Her personal training sessions help clients
with weight loss, muscle definition, strength, and stress
management. Clients leave the B-defined studio with
renewed confidence knowing they feel better physically
and emotionally. Bridgit holds
a Masters of Education in Exercise Science and a Bachelor
of Science in Exercise Management. She is an American
Council on Exercise certified Personal Trainer and
an Aerobic and Fitness Association of America certified
Group Fitness Instructor. She is also a member of
the American College of Sports Medicine. Bridgit has
worked in the fitness industry for over 13 years,
most recently as the Fitness Coordinator for Kingsmill
Resort and Spa. What makes Bridgit unique is her insight
and ability to analyze the body while developing an
innovative fitness program that brings her clients
results.
Bridgit’s goal is to provide a premier
training studio that enables clients to experience
a “one stop shop” for all their health and wellness
needs. Whether it is to train for your first triathlon,
define and tone your body, or simply to improve your

Personal Trainer
Rehabilitation Specialist
“Assisting clients define and reach their fitness goal
is my privilege.” Amy
graduated with a degree in Recreation Therapy and
Administration from the University of North Carolina.
She prides herself as an expert in fitness training.
The American Council on Exercise certifies her as
a Personal Trainer and as a Group Fitness Instructor.
She is also certified as an Aquatic Fitness Instructor
by the Aquatic Exercise Association. Amy believes
that education, training, and implementing the latest
trends in exercise help her clients achieve their
fitness goals.
Amy especially enjoys working with
older adults and clients needing rehabilitation after
an injury or illness. Formerly a Personal Trainer
for Kingsmill Resort and Spa and an Aquatic Coordinator
for The Therapy Center in Tennessee, Amy brings her
knowledge of health and wellness to the B – defined
studio. Amy’s hobbies include bicycling, hiking photography,
and reading. |

Caroline
Fornshell
Personal Trainer
“We are in this
together!” Caroline
is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National
Academy of Sports Medicine, and she is also certified
as a Fitness Nutrition Coach through the National
Exercise and Sports Trainers Association. While she
already has a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech,
Caroline is currently working on her designation as
a Registered Dietician through Virginia State University
to continue to save the health needs of the Williamsburg
community.
Caroline is enthusiastic about fitness
and nutrition and she continues to achieve her own
athletic goals. An avid runner, she competes in distances
from 10k to 26.2 miles. Caroline exhibits the same
passionate dedication to each client’s aspirations
as to her own.
In an effort to deliver the maximum
benefits of personal training, Caroline follows a
structured format to ensure quantifiable results to
her clients. She combines nutrition guidance and personal
training for maximum health benefits. Caroline customizes
each program to facilitate development and achievement
of individualized objectives. Each program includes
core, reactive, agility, strength, cardio and flexibility
training to progress all fitness levels |

Lindsay
Williams
Personal Trainer

Lindsay is a certified personal trainer
through the American Council on Exercise. She graduated
from the University of Utah with a degree in Public
Relations. A recent transplant to Virginia, she has
fallen in love with Williamsburg and looks forward
to meeting many of its residents. She plans to further
her education and become certified through the American
Dietetics Association in Adult Weight Management,
and is hoping to pursue a Masters degree in Kinesiology
from the University of Virginia.
Lindsay will help you improve your
personal satisfaction and self-esteem by discovering
what your body is capable of and developing strength
and endurance. Through a thoughtful and personalized
exercise program, Lindsay will help you achieve your
fitness goals and have fun while doing it. She is
very passionate about fitness and nutrition and knows
that with the right education and motivation, you
can adopt a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle. She
is readily adaptable and can alter her training methods
to maximize your performance, enjoyment and success.
A lifelong competitive athlete, Lindsay
enjoys playing golf, tennis and soccer. She hopes
to start participating with local leagues and continue
to take part in these sports. She also loves being
in the mountains skiing, hiking or trail running.
She is beginning to train for her first marathon next

Bailey
Personal Trainer

Nancy is a Certified Personal Trainer
through W.I.T.S. and the American Council on Exercise.
Nancy left a long and successful career as a college
disability support services counselor to pursue her
passion for exercise and wellness. Nancy brings her
years of experience helping others achieve their personal
and academic goals to her new career helping others
achieve their fitness goals. She believes that exercise
not only benefits the body, but the mind as well.
She lends a compassionate ear, patience, and support
to all of her clients, in order to help them achieve
their desired results - whatever they may be.
As a busy professional, she understands
the challenges of balancing a career, personal, and
family responsibilities with finding time for one's
physical and mental well-being. But from her own experience,
she believes that you must make time for yourself
in order to be a healthier, happier you!
Nancy works with individuals of all ages and at all
stages of development. She believes that goals can
be accomplished with commitment and persistence, and
hopes to serve as both a leader and partner with her
clients. You must simply take that first step. She
will create an individualized training program and
help you to incorporate exercise and fitness as part
of your daily routine. By achieving her own goal to
become a personal trainer, Nancy knows that it's never
too late in life to make a healthy change, be it large
or small, and looks forward to helping you to do the
same.
Nancy graduated from the University of Virginia with
a B.A. in Psychology, and also holds a M.S. in Rehabilitation
Counseling from SUNY Buffalo. In her free time, she
is an active member of the Williamsburg Boat Club
where she trains and competes in Masters-level crew.
She and her husband are helping to raise their grandson
and enjoy spending time with their two grown children.

Stephannie
Friend
Personal Trainer
“Your path to health and well-being begins with you!”
Stephannie is
a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council
on Exercise and is also a Certified Pilates instructor
through the Pilates Certification Center. In addition
to personal training, she teaches beginner and intermediate
Matt Pilate’s classes. Stephannie graduated from
William and Mary with a Bachelor of Arts, and she is
currently working towards obtaining her Natural Health
Professional Certification and her Pilates Matt II Certification.
Stephannie plans on returning to school for a Masters
in Wellness Counseling in the fall of 2008.
Stephannie has been an athlete throughout her life,
participating in several triathlons and competitive
swim, ski, and aerobic dance teams. In her free time,
she enjoys spending time outside! She is an avid runner
but also enjoys hiking and biking. Stephannie also
loves reading, watching movies, cooking, site seeing,
and spending time with her friends and family.

Gina is a Certified Personal Trainer
through the American Council on Exercise. She was
formerly employed as a Drill Instructor for with the
Virginia Department of Corrections. Her responsibilities
included providing daily, structured physical fitness
training for the inmates. Gina plans to further her
education by obtaining a degree in Exercise Science.
Gina believes that a successful fitness program includes
giving her clients a structured, customized workout
that improves their personal health and achieves their
wellness goals. She likes to keep her programs fun,
fresh and full of motivation! Gina believes the keys
to optimum health include an active lifestyle; strength,
flexibility and cardiovascular training; and a well-balanced
diet.
Gina enjoys running, bike riding,
and strength training. She also enjoys cooking healthy
meals and spending time with her pets. “Your

Amanda
is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American
Council on Exercise. She is a recent graduate of the
College of William and Mary with a BS in Neuroscience
and a minor in Hispanic Studies. She is continuing
her passion for health and nutrition by applying to
graduate schools to obtain a masters degree in nutrition
and to become a Registered Dietician.
Her fitness philosophy is that exercise
should be fun and should be a part of your daily life.
In addition, she believes in a holistic approach to
fitness, achieved through a balanced lifestyle, consistent
exercise, and healthy eating. She is looking forward

Carson
Massage Therapist

is a graduate of Christopher Newport University in
Newport News, VA, where she excelled in Track and
Field competition. After graduation, she worked as
a fitness instructor, helping create fitness regimens
and instructing clients in the proper use of equipment.
Nicole graduated in 1999 from The
America Spirit Institute, School of Holistic Health
and Massage Therapy in Williamsburg, Virginia. She
holds a National Certification for Therapeutic Massage
and Bodywork, and she is also certified by The Board
of Nursing, Department of Health Professions in the
Commonwealth of Virginia. In addition, she is certified
in La Stone Therapy.
Nicole served as a massage therapist
at the Spa at Kingsmill Resort for eight years, and
currently, for The Spa of Colonial Williamsburg. She
is experienced in La Stone Therapy, Aromatherapy Massage,
Swedish Massage, Sports/Deep Tissue Massage, Reflexology
and Couples’ Massage.
Nicole enjoys working with all types
of clients. Her specialty is Sports Massage. She enjoys
making a difference in people’s life through
massage. Her hobbies include running, walking her
dogs, and outdoor adventures.

and homes.
Ron specializes in Sports, Deep Tissue/Bodyworks,

Nutrition Therapist

Valerie offers twenty-five years of experience as a
nutrition therapist. She is a Registered Dietitian and
has a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from the
University of Vermont. Her goal is to truly understand
her client’s needs and help motivate, empower, and educate
them on food and its effect on the human body.
Valerie is an American Dietetic Association Certified
Weight Management Therapist, and she is particularly
skilled in helping client’s lose unnecessary weight.
Valerie provides services such as grocery shopping
tours with clients to help them learn to read labels
and make better choices in meal planning.
Valerie also provides expertise in sports nutrition,
eating disorders, and chemical dependency. Her presentations
and seminars make her a popular consultant to area
corporations and schools. Valerie’s knowledge of nutrition
and weight management makes her an essential member
of the B-defined team of professionals.

SCOTT
VERDEN
Dance Instructor
“Dancing should be fun and enjoyed by all…”
Scott has competed and taught ballroom dance since
1997. Scott believes in teaching proper technique
per the International Society of Dance Instructors
and the National Dance Council of America Guidelines.
As both a former student and competitor, Scott knows
that proper instruction makes a dance program.
Scott is a registered pro-am instructor
with the National Dance Council of America. He teaches
both American and International styles of ballroom
dance as well as other forms of social dancing. Scott
enjoys teaching basic dance steps to beginners and
watching them enjoy the feel of dance as a form of
exercise. He also trains clients privately who want
additional training to compete in competitions, studio
recitals, or weddings.
Scott feels that exercise is all-
encompassing, and dancing is one of the best ways
to enjoy movement to music. Dance, as part of the
innovative B- defined wellness program, gives clients
a non-traditional workout with the benefits of a full
body conditioning program. |
